Join the WCS Los Angeles Chapter’s Beginner Pole Dance Workshop, with pole dance artist and sustainability strategist Maëlys Renaud. Environmentalism and the pole dance artform share in common a recent evolution from a stigmatization of the discipline to a growing popularization. Both participate in reshaping the 21st century by reexamining our relationship to the living world. Let’s get moving and learn pole dance moves while connecting with the sustainability community.

Maëlys Renaud is a former French Science Diplomat, environmentalist and pole dance artist. She recently launched the platform www.poleforplanet.com dedicated to everyone in the pole dance industry to provide them with knowledge, connections, support and services with the aim to address climate change and the many environmental challenges that we face by exploring the relation between the artform and the natural ecosystems, integrating environmental values and raising environmental awareness. She also partners with companies from all industries and collaborates with environmental organizations on a diversity of projects to inspire, perform and raise environmental awareness.

Maëlys will teach a pole dance initiation workshop, showcase her pole artistry and inspire you by presenting her platform www.poleforplanet.com and projects bridging the pole dance industry and positive climate actions.

Everyone is welcome, you don’t need to have a dance or movement background to join the workshop.

Bring a comfortable sports’ outfit (tank top and shorts), a yoga mat and a reusable water bottle.
