This WCS Executive Leadership Workshop is spearheaded by Julie Castro Adams, founder and CEO of How Women Lead. This organization focuses on helping leaders understand two pathways which can accelerate their professional growth and get them to the next level.

Today, women represent more than half of the US workforce, yet they continue to hold a vastly smaller percentage of leadership positions than men in various sectors. For women of color, the climb to be equally represented in leadership roles has been painfully slow, and there is a lot of work to be done to reduce this gender and race disparity. Today’s landscape holds significant opportunities to dismantle historical inequities, and usher in the improved outcomes and returns that result for everyone when women take on leadership positions.

This workshop is led by Julie Castro Abrams, and supported by Angel Investor. The workshop will focus on providing information and understanding of why women have faced inequalities and barriers to advancement in the workforce. This workshop will provide the audience valuable insights into two crucial levers for propelling women towards leadership, power, and influence: corporate board service and venture investing. The audience will learn why these two pathways are essential for women to leverage as they focus on career advancement.
